The President of the Defence and Police Officers’ Wives Association (DEPOWA), Mrs. Oghogho Gwabin Musa, on Thursday, 11 September 2025, organized a special training session for members of the Defence Non-Commissioned Officers’ Wives Association (DENCOWA) themed “Balancing International Parenting, Entrepreneurship and Well-being,” at the DEPOWA School, Abuja.

In her opening address, Mrs. Musa warmly welcomed participants and commended their resilience in attending the programme. She described the training as a vital platform for strengthening parenting capacity, enhancing entrepreneurial knowledge, and prioritizing personal well-being. She noted that well-being remains central to the realities of everyday life as wives, mothers, and women of influence.

Highlighting the significance of supporting DENCOWA and other affiliated associations, Mrs. Musa reiterated the popular adage that “if you educate a woman, you educate a nation.” She noted that empowering the wives of military and police personnel is a strategic investment in national security, as their stability, productivity, and well-being positively influence their families, communities, and the nation at large.

The training featured insightful presentations from erudite resource persons, including Ms. Amara Ezediniru on Personal Well-being for Purposeful Living, Mrs. Linda Ekeator on Entrepreneurship Development for Economic Empowerment, and Mrs. Wendy Ologe on Intentional Parenting.

The event also had in attendance the representatives of NAOWA, NOWA, and NAFOWA Presidents; the President of COWA, Mrs. Kikelomo Adeniyi; the Coordinator of NDCOWA; DSAOWA as well as members of DEPOWA, NAOWA, NOWA, and NAFOWA.
