 PRESIDENT DEPOWA HOLDS FISH FARMING AND FINANCIAL INTELLIGENCE SEMINAR ON 21 MAY 2024 AT DEPOWA SECRETARIAT

The President of the Defence and Police Officers’ Wives Association (DEPOWA), Mrs Oghogho G. Musa organised a seminar on fish farming and financial intelligence on Tuesday, 21st May, 2024.

The aim of the seminar was to equip participants with new streams of income and learn how to manage their finances. The General Secretary DEPOWA, Mrs Linda Ekeator, delivered the welcome address.

The President DEPOWA, in her remarks stated that the essence of this seminar was to empower participants with the right knowledge and necessary tools that will enable them make informed decisions in their financial planning and management strategies for fish farming business. She added that the training will give a sense of direction and provide a means of livelihood or extra source of income to the participants.

The financial intelligence facilitators from First Ally Asset Management (FAAM) in their presentation informed participants of the different means of investing funds through their company.

The fish farming facilitator, Mr Best Tomter Terver taught participants on the five value chains of fish farming, factors required for fish farming, diseases that affect catfish, cost of producing catfish and further had a practical session on fish processing.

Pharmacist Mrs Fatima Salihu gave an elaborate discussion on uterine fibroid and women’s health.

Participants present at the seminar include members of DEPOWA, NAOWA, NOWA, NAFOWA, POWA, and DENCOWA.

Highlights of the event include the questions and answers session, health talk, and group photographs.
