 DEPOWA GRADUATES CLASS OF 2023/24 AT DEPOWA DAY CARE NURSERY PRIMARY, AND SECONDARY SCHOOL MOGADISHU CANTONMENT 28 JULY 2024

The President of the Defence and Police Officers’ Wives Association (DEPOWA), Mrs Oghogho G.Musa who was the Special Guest of Honour (SGOH) in her remarks cheered the graduating class for completing their secondary education. In her words, “You have conquered challenges, embraced growth and emerged as shining examples of what can be achieved through hard work and perseverance. As you begin a new chapter in your lives, I urge you to reflect on the valuable lessons you have learned within these walls and remember that education extends beyond your text books, the development of your character will determine your success in life.” Noting that CHARACTER stands for Compassion, Honesty, Accounting, Respect, Adoptability,
Courage, Trustworthiness, Empathy and Responsibility.
        
She affirmed that education is a lifelong journey, not a destination. “The knowledge and skills you have acquired will serve as a foundation for future successes. As you move forward, embrace challenges, be curious, and never stop learning. Develop a growth mindset and always strive for excellence.”

The DEPOWA President took the opportunity to thank the Commandant and staff of the school for their commitment towards the student and also the parents of the students for their sacrifices towards their children.

In the same vein, the President DEPOWA appreciated the First Lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and Founder Renewed Hope Initiative, Her Excellency Senator Oluremi Tinubu CON for her motherly inspiration and continuous guidance. She further thanked the Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Gwabin Musa OFR, for all his support towards the provision of quality education in DEPOWA Daycare Nursery, Primary and Secondary School and DEPOWA activities.

Mrs Oghogho G.Musa further recognised the staff of DEPOWA school who have worked in the school for a long time with the long service awards where she presented them with plaques and cash gifts in three categories which include two hundred thousand naira, three hundred thousand naira and five hundred thousand naira.

The graduation event featured the welcome remarks by Major Buzugbe, a graduation lecture by Mr John Ohams on “Determination is the key to success”, Cultural display by the school students, speech presentation by a graduating student, Gandu Kuyet Daniel; presentation of awards to the best performing students in the school, Presentation of awards as well as cash gifts to the long serving staff of the school and group photographs.

In attendance at the event were the SGOH, DEPOWA members, officers, staff of DEPOWA school, and parents of the graduating students.
