 PRESIDENT DEPOWA HOLDS EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE TRAINING

The President of the Defence and Police Officers’ Wives Association DEPOWA, Mrs Oghogho G.Musa held a training on Emotional Intelligence on Friday 17th January 2025 at the Armed Forces Officers Mess Asokoro, Abuja.

The President DEPOWA in her opening remarks noted that officers’ wives have unique challenges and responsibilities that require strength, resilience, and compassion; as such Emotional Intelligence as a skill set is necessary to manage emotions, as well as recognize and influence the emotions of others. By becoming more self-aware, we learn to manage our emotions effectively, and foster positive relationships and interactions with those around us which not only contribute to the growth of those around us but also set the stage for personal fulfiliment and harmony in our homes and society by having a positive mindset towards situations in our lives.

Part of the activities at the event include the lecture and on Protocol and Etiquette for Armed Forces Spouses and DEPOWA members by the 14th President of DEPOWA, Barr.(Mrs) Anwuli Vickie Irabor and the lecture by Mrs Aisha Yakubu on Emotional Intelligence.

Present at the event were the representatives of wives service chiefs and Inspector General of Police. Members of DEPOWA, NAOWA, NOWA, NAFOWA, and POWA.
Highlights of the event include the launch of the 365 days of gratitude book by the President DEPOWA, interactive sessions from the lectures, and group photographs.
