 PRESIDENT DEPOWA AND MEMBERS ATTENDED THE GRADUATION CEREMONY OF CUSTOMS OFFICERS’ WIVES ASSOCIATION SKILLS ACQUISITION TRAINING CENTRE AT KARU ABUJA ON THURSDAY, 22 MAY 2025

The President of the Defence and Police Officers’ Wives Association (DEPOWA) Mrs Oghogho Gwabin Musa attended the Graduation Ceremony of Customs Officers’ Wives Association’s (COWA) Skills Acquisition Training Centre. The event was aimed at showcasing the various talents and skills learnt and acquired by participants of the centre throughout their period of training.

Delivering her goodwill message, the President DEPOWA, Mrs Oghogho Gwabin Musa, tasked the graduands of the COWA Skills Acquisition Centre to be worthy ambassadors of the centre. As beneficiaries of three months intensive infotech skills and entrepreneurship training programme, Mrs Musa expressed joy and optimism that the skills acquired will impact positively in their lives. She described the graduands as a very lucky set of people while encouraging them to explore every opportunity available outside to empower themselves and family.

In his keynote address, the Special Guest of Honour (SGOH), the Comptroller General of Customs, Mr Bashir Adewale Adeniyi, after watching the various exhibitions/displays congratulated the graduands and commended them for their resilience and extraordinary talents. He expressed enthusiasm for the graduands’ future success, encouraging them to leverage on the skills gotten. The SGOH also advised the participants to explore the possibilities of collaboration with one another to garner additional resources and support beyond the initial resources provided by the Centre.

President of COWA and Chief Host, Mrs Kikelomo Adeniyi, urged the graduands to overcome limitations, build courage, remain confident, lead with integrity, and make a positive impact out there. She expressed confidence with what they have learnt, their ability to shine and make a difference. Finally, she wished the graduands successes, prosperity, and lasting legacy.

Dignitaries present at the event include the Comptroller General of Customs, Mr. Bashir Adewale Adeniyi, President DEPOWA, Mrs. Oghogho Gwabin Musa and President of POWA, Dr. Mrs Elizabeth Egbetokun. Also present were the representatives of NAOWA, NOWA, and NAFOWA Presidents as well as members of DEPOWA, NAOWA, NOWA, NAFOWA, and other dignitaries

Highlights of the event included presentations of awards and certificates, a tour of products produced by graduates, and group photographs.
