The President of the Defence and Police Officers’ Wives Association (DEPOWA), Mrs. Oghogho Gwabin Musa hosted the monthly aerobics exercise themed “Dance to De-Stress” at the Guards Brigade Indoor Sports Hall, Aguiyi Ironsi Cantonment, Asokoro, Abuja on 14th June 2025.
The event aimed to promote physical and mental well-being among the wives of Armed Forces personnel, foster a healthier lifestyle and reduce stress through dance.
In her remarks, Mrs. Musa commended the participants for their dedication despite the inclement weather. Highlighting the multifaceted benefits of physical activities, she noted that dancing and other exercises not only promote physical vitality but also play a crucial role in preventing various health issues.
The President DEPOWA encouraged the continuation of healthy habits beyond the event, Mrs. Musa suggested incorporating daily routines that include music, dance, and self-motivation through video recording, emphasizing that a mere 30 minutes of daily activity can yield substantial long-term benefits.
Furthermore, she underscored the significance of a holistic approach to wellness, emphasizing that a balanced lifestyle encompasses both regular physical activity and mindful nutrition, as encapsulated in the adage, “You are what you eat.” By integrating wholesome eating habits with consistent exercise and effective stress management, individuals can unlock the full potential of a healthy lifestyle.
