 PRESIDENT DEPOWA HOLDS HEALTH TALK ON 4 JULY 2025

The President of the Defence and Police Officers’ Wives Association (DEPOWA) Mrs Oghogho Gwabin Musa, on 4 July 2025, organized a health talk at the Armed Forces Officers’ Mess Asokoro, Abuja. An enlightening initiative which seeks to foster a deeper understanding of health and well-being among military families and women.

Delivering her remark, Mrs. Oghogho Gwabin Musa emphasized the importance of self-care and health for military families, with a special focus on women. She underscored that prioritizing well-being is not a luxury but a necessity and that true health encompasses a holistic balance of physical, emotional, and mental well-being. By stressing the vital role women play in fortifying their families and nation through intentional self-care, Mrs. Musa passionately encouraged women to prioritize their health, urging them to “choose themselves” and make their well-being top priority.

Dignitaries in attendance include the President NAOWA ably represented by Mrs.Oghenerukevwe Fejokwu; the President NOWA represented by Mrs. Zainab Akpan; the President NAFOWA, Architect. Dr. Mrs. Rakiya Abubakar; the President POWA, Dr. Mrs. Elizabeth Egbetokun; the President COWA, Mrs. Kikelomo Adeniyi among other guests.

Highlights of the event were an overview on the prevention of mother-to-child transmission of HIV, discussions on menopause, effects of stress on health, and effective stress management strategies, dance drama display by NYSC troupe, panel session, presentation of plaques, and group photographs.
