 PRESIDENT DEPOWA ATTEND THE GALA NIGHT FOR THE CLOSING CEREMONY OF THE AFRICAN CHIEFS OF DEFENCE STAFF SUMMIT

The President of the Defence and Police Officers’ Wives Association (DEPOWA), Mrs. Oghogho Gwabin Musa, joined dignitaries and participants at the Gala night to mark the closing ceremony of the African Chiefs of Defence Staff Summit that started on the 25 – 27 August 2025 at the Transcorp Hilton Hotel, Abuja,

In his closing remarks, the host, the Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Gwabin Musa, OFR, commended the Federal Government of Nigeria for its role in hosting the summit, he also expressed deep appreciation to the Honourable Minister of State for Defence, Dr. Bello Mohammed Matawalle MON for his steadfast leadership and support toward strengthening regional defence cooperation.

General CG Musa further highlighted the progress made during the summit in addressing pressing security challenges and fostering stronger partnerships among African nations. He described the gathering as a demonstration of Africa’s unity and determination to promote regional stability and prosperity.

Delivering his remarks, the Special Guest of Honour (SGOH), Dr. Bello Mohammed Matawalle, Honourable Minister of State for Defence, applauded the Chiefs of Defence leaders for their commitment towards enhancing collaboration in the fight against threats across the continent. He reaffirmed the Federal Government of Nigeria’s support for initiatives aimed at consolidating peace, stability, and security in Africa.

The Gala Night not only provided an atmosphere of camaraderie but also reinforced the importance of partnership and shared responsibility in safeguarding the African continent’s future.

Highlights of the occasion were the cultural dance performances, presentation of souvenirs, and group photographs.
