The second day of the President DEPOWA, Mrs Oghogho Gwabin Musa working visit to Maiduguri, Bornu state started with the Wreath Laying Ceremony at the Maimalari Military Cantonment Cemetery on Tuesday, 12 August 2025.

The Theartre Commander, Joint Task Forces, Operation Hadin Kai, Major General AE Abubakar welcomed the President DEPOWA, General Officer Commanding 7 Division and all present to the event acknowledging the solemn and deeply significant act of remembrance and respect to military personnel who have made the ultimate sacrifice in service to their country.

The event featured a minute of silence in honour of the fallen heroes, prayers by the Christian and muslim faithful, Wreath Laying Ceremony, tour of the Cenotaph house, media briefing and group photographs.

The President DEPOWA and her entourage proceeded to the Army Officers Mess at Maimalari Military Cantonment for a meeting with the families of 7 Division personnel.

Mrs Oghogho Gwabin Musa had an interactive session with the wives of troops where she donated 20 grinding machines to wives of the soldiers and made cash presentations of N200,000 each to 32 widows of fallen heroes.
