
The Defence and Police Officers’ Wives Association (DEPOWA), observed the International women’s Day with a health walk on 8 March 2025 at Mogadishu ,Cantonement Abuja. In her remarks the President DEPOWA Mrs Oghogho Gwabin Musa, during her remarks, thanked all women who made it to the health walk and wished them a Happy International Women’s Day. Furthermore, she re-echoed that “the theme for this year’s celebration: “Women and Health Accelerate Action,” resonates deeply with us as we strive for a more inclusive gender equitable society”. Mrs Musa urged women to remain committed in promoting women empowerment, providing support to women and families in need. The President DEPOWA appealed to institutions and individuals to accelerate action and implement more policies and programs that promote women’s empowerment.
Mrs Musa appreciated the the First Lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and Founder Renewed Hope Initiative, Her Excellency Senator Oluremi Tinubu CON for her motherly inspiration and continuous strategic guidance. She further appreciated the Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Gwabin Musa for his invaluable support for DEPOWA . In attendance was the President NAFOWA Arch. Dr Mrs Rakiya Abubakar and representatives of other wives of service chiefs and members of DEPOWA, NAOWA, NOWA, NAFOWA, POWA, RSOWA and COWA. Highlights of the event were a health talk by Coach Maimuna Abdullahi and group photographs.
