 DEPOWA PRESIDENT ATTENDS ARMY HEADQUARTERS WEST AFRICAN SOCIAL ACTIVITIES (WASA)

The President DEPOWA Mrs Oghogho G Musa was a special guest at the Army Headquarters (AHQ) West African Social Activities (WASA) for the year ended 2024, held at the AHQ Garrison parade ground, Mogadishu Cantonment, Abuja on Saturday 18th January 2025.

WASA is a culturally rich event for officers, soldiers, and their families to mark the end of the year’s activities celebrated with cultural troupe display and display of different delicacies from the diverse ethnic groups of Nigeria.

The Special Guest of Honour (SGOH), former Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), General Lucky Irabor appreciated Nigeria’s cultural diversity as a source of strength and commended the dedication and sacrifices of military personnel. He further charged the Nigerian Army personnel to work in synergy with other security agencies to tackle the nation’s security challenges and maintain constitutional responsibilities while upholding democratic values.

The host and Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lieutenant General Olufemi Oluyede, highlighted the importance of WASA in promoting national heritage and unity among personnel and their families. He further thanked President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR for his unwavering support and strategic guidance to the Nigerian Army.
