The President, Defence and Police Officers’ Wives Association, Mrs Oghogho G.Musa was the Special Guest of Honour (SGOH) at the Nigerian Airforce Officers Wives Association (NAFOWA) outreach at the NAFOWA Special Needs School Abuja on Friday, 6 of December 2024.
The event aimed to commemorate the International Day of People with Disabilities was organized by the NAFOWA President. Architect Dr Mrs Rakiya Abubakar, who noted that “NAFOWA holds dear the values of compassion, empathy, and inclusivity, which are exemplified in our unwavering commitment to supporting individuals with special abilities.” She added that “Central to our efforts is the
establishment of a functional specialized school tailored to meet the unique needs of individuals with special needs as such, the school serves as a beacon of hope and empowerment, offering quality education and therapeutic services to help pupil unlock their talents and achieve their dreams.
The SGOH, Mrs Oghogho G.Musa in her remarks appreciated Architect Dr Mrs Rakiya Abubakar for her dynamic leadership in the lives of the children with special needs and NAFOWA at large, she also applauded the care givers of the children with special needs for their patients and love towards the unique children. The President DEPOWA further pledged to support NAFOWA Special Needs School Abuja with the sum of two million naira and the caregivers Fifty thousand naira each as a token of appreciation for their good works.
Highlights of the event include the dance display by the special needs children, fashion parade, presentation of items to NAFOWA Special Needs School, goodwill messages, presentation of Souvenirs and group photographs.
