 PRESIDENT DEPOWA ATTENDED THE CHILDREN’S DAY 2025 LAUNCH OF AGILE ADDITIONAL FINANCING PROJECT AND AGILE GAME AWARD CLOSING CEREMONY

The President of the Defence and Police Officers’ Wives Association (DEPOWA) Mrs Oghogho Gwabin Musa and members attended the Children’s Day 2025 Launch of the Adolescent Girls Initiative for Learning and Empowering ( AGILE) Project and the closing Ceremony of the AGILE Games Award organised at the Banquet Hall of the Presidential Villa Abuja. The event was themed “Tapping the Untapped Natural Treasure” emphasizes the potential and values of children, and UNICEF’s encouragement to prioritize their well-being and development is said to be crucial for the country’s continued greatness.

The Minister of Education, Dr. Tunji Alausa commended the First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu CON, for her unwavering commitment to education, especially for girls. He noted that the first lady’s efforts in providing scholarships and support have opened doors for countless children, promoting inclusivity and empowerment. The Minister’s message to the children emphasizes the transformative power of education, encouraging them to strive for excellence and build a brighter future.

The Special Guest of Honour, the First Lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Her Excellency, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, CON, stated that the administration under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has prioritized education under the Renewed Hope Agenda, aiming to provide quality education for every Nigerian child. She also commended the Minister of Education, Dr. Tunji Alausa, and the Minister of State for their efforts in driving the initiative forward. She highlighted the potentials and achievements of the children present, showcasing their talents and abilities in various areas such as entrepreneurship, environmental innovation, storytelling, and sports. Acknowledging that with support and opportunities, the children are already demonstrating promising results, and their efforts are worthy of recognition and celebration. She also emphasized that every child present is a champion, regardless of receiving an award or not. She further encouraged the children to continue learning, innovating, and striving for excellence.

Highlight of the event included the goodwill messages, presentation of Award, cultural displays, cutting of the cake and group photographs.
