 PRESIDENT DEPOWA HOLDS CRUCIAL MEETING WITH MILITARY WIDOWS ASSOCIATION (MIWA)

The President Defence and Police Officers Wives Association (DEPOWA) Mrs Oghogho G Musa met with Executives and Coordinators of Military Widows Association at DEPOWA Secretariat on Thursday, 11th July 2024.

Notably present at the meeting were the 8th President of DEPOWA; Mrs Alero Azazi and the 12th President of DEPOWA; Mrs Mary Badeh, DEPOWA Coordinators and Executives as well as members of board of trustees of MIWA.

The President DEPOWA, in her remarks, welcomed everyone to the meeting and enjoined them to make meaningful contributions to the meeting while also being critical and respectful in their deliberations.

The meeting was aimed at addressing the challenges in MIWA and fostering more cooperation. At the end of the deliberations, it was agreed to dissolve the standing Executives of the association and appoint interim Executives to assist in creating the required structure for MIWA before a general election on the national and state level.

The following members were nominated and elected into specific positions as interim executives at the meeting.
Mrs Bunmi Okiki- National President MIWA, Mrs Helen Baba- Assistant National President MIWA, Mrs Hannatu Hamman- Secretary MIWA, Mrs Maria Emmanuel- PRO MIWA, Mrs Franca Elisha- Financial secretary.

Highlight of the event includes the vote of thanks delivered by the interim President MIWA, Mrs Bunmi Okiki, and group photographs.
