
The President of the Defence and Police Officers’ Wives Association (DEPOWA), Mrs. Oghogho Gwabin Musa hosted the Children’s Day celebration on 27 May 2025 at the Aguiyi Ironsi Cantonment in Asokoro, This momentous occasion underscored the importance of recognizing the potential and promise that children embody.
Delivering her remarks, Mrs. Musa eloquently highlighted the significance of Children’s Day, emphasizing the need to nurture and support children’s education, dreams, and futures. She acknowledged that children are the greatest gift to any nation, deserving of tangible actions to empower them. Mrs Musa reminded parents, guardians, and teachers of their sacred duty to raise educated, empathetic, and dignified individuals, filled with love, compassion, and commitment.
The event had in attendance, The President DEPOWA, The Chief Host, The President of NAOWA, NAFOWA and representative of the President NOWA. Other attendees were the members of DEPOWA, NAOWA, NOWA and NAFOWA; parents of participating school, musician Sunny Neji and other invited guests.
Highlight of the event were the schools cultural dance, poetry, fun activities for kids and parents, march past, cutting of cake and group photographs.
