 PRESIDENT DEPOWA RECEIVES AWARD AT GIRLS FUTURE CONFERENCE 2025.

The President of the Defence and Police Officers’ Wives Association (DEPOWA), Mrs. Oghogho Gwabin Musa, represented by Mrs. Deborah Eseoghene Unurhiere, on Friday, 10 October 2025, attended the Girls’ Future Conference held at the Federal Ministry of Youth and Development, Abuja to commemorate the International Day of the Girl Child, with the theme: “The Girl I Am, The Change I Lead: Girls on the Frontlines of Crisis.”

The conference sought to highlight the critical role of girls in shaping resilient communities, promote equal opportunities, and inspire collective action toward advancing gender equality and girls’ rights.

Special recognitions awards were also presented to the President DEPOWA and other Change makers for their outstanding efforts in promoting girl-child education, mentorship, and empowerment across communities.

The Honourable Minister for Youth and Development, Comrade Ayodele Oluwande in his remarks encouraged Nigerian girls across the world to remain confident, innovative, and strong in leadership. He pledged his continuous support to the Girl-Child Initiative (GHI).
