The Vice Chairman of Veragold football club, Brigadier General UO Olatoye (rtd) and members of his team on Wednesday, 5th June, 2024 were at the DEPOWA Secretariat on a courtesy visit to the President DEPOWA.
He stated that Veragold football club is a social club founded by classmates from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria and has grown to include well meaning Nigerians who are professionals in various fields as well as officers from the military. He noted that the scope of Veragold football club has evolved over the years into performing social corporate responsibilities, which is the reason for their visit.

He further stated that the club had a need to honour men who have paid the supreme price for the country in lieu of the Armed Forces Remembrance Day 2024 and DEPOWA was the association which was chosen to help in disbursing their contribution to the chosen families of fallen heroes.

In addition, Brigadier General UO Olatoye (rtd) thanked Mrs Oghogho G Musa for the opportunity to pay a courtesy visit and looked forward to more collaborations between both associations.

Mrs Oghogho G.Musa, in her response, welcomed the Vice Chairman and members of Veragold football club to DEPOWA Secretariat. She thanked them for initiating the laudable project towards the families of fallen heroes and expressed her gratitude. She further assured the team that the donations will be used as intended towards families of the fallen heroes and the Presidents of the Army, Navy, Airforce and Police wives association will be informed and involved in disbursing them as intended.

Highlights of the aevent include signing of the visitors’ book, group photographs, presentation of check, and sourvenirs.
