The President Defence and Police Officers’ Wives Association, Mrs Oghogho G Musa was a distinguished guest at the commissioning ceremony of Civil-Military Cooperation (CIMIC) projects which took place at Jen-Karim Local Government Area in Taraba state on the 2nd of May, 2024.
Notably present at the event were the Executive Governor of Taraba State, Dr Abgu Kefas; the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant-General Taoreed Abiodun Lagbaja who was the Special Guest of Honour, the President, Nigerian Army Officers Wives Association (NAOWA), Mrs Mariya Abiodun Lagbaja; the Vice President, Naval Officers’ Wives Association (NOWA), Mrs Zainab Akpan; Principal Officers and Staff of the Nigerian Army, the Ivah ofJen and also members of DEPOWA and NAOWA.
The CIMIC projects that the Nigerian Army Officers execute across the country are part of the Army’s non-kinetic approach in combating security challenges facing the country. These projects aim to enhance the welfare challenges faced by the communities.
Major General HT Wesley, the Chief of Special Services and Programmes Army Headquarters, whose project involved the facilitation and upgrade of a multi purpose centre, while Major General BR Sinjen, the Chief of Operations Army Headquarters, facilitated a sports and cultural centre project that includes the construction of cultural museum, basketball court and a football field.
During the event, Major General HT Wesley and Major General BR Sinjen gave the welcome address at their project sites, respectively. The Chief of Army Staff, Liutenant-General TA Lagbaja, gave his remarks, and the Executive Governor of Taraba State also made remarks during the event The Ivah of Jen gave the vote of thanks, bringing the event to an end.
