 PRESIDENT DEPOWA REPRESENTS FIRST LADY AT THE PROJECT LAUNCH OF PLANTING 90000 ECONOMIC TREES BY WOMEN ORGANISED BY HOPE ALIVE FOUNDATION

The President DEPOWA, Mrs Oghogho Gwabin Musa represented the First lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu CON at the project launch of planting 90000 economic trees by women tagged “One woman one tree initiative” hosted by Honourable Mrs Regina Akume JP, House of Representative Member (Gboko/Tara Constituency and founder Hope Alive Foundation and the wife of the secretary to the Government of the Federation His Excellency Senator George Akume.
The event took place at the Nigeria National Merit Award Secretariat, Abuja, on 25th April 2024

Distinguished personalities at the project launch include, the Minister of Budget and Economic Planning of Nigeria, Abubakar Atiku Bagudu, Honourable Minister of Arts, Culture and Creative Economy, Hannatu Musa Musawa; Minister of Environment, Malam Balarabe Abbas Lawal ably represented by Director Forestry Dr. Mrs Hajara Saliu;Director General, National Council on Climate Change, Dr Salisu Dahiru; Director General, Centre for Women Affairs Development, Dr. Asabe Vilita Bashir, Acting Director General, Raw Materials Research and Development Council, Engr Emmanuel Kwaya, Special Adviser to the President on Policy Coordination, Hadiza Bala Usman. CEO of Bolmus Group International, Hajiya Bola Muniat Shagaya, and a host of other dignitaries.

Hope Alive Foundation is an NGO focused on addressing the needs of vulnerable people in Benue state with its pulse on global changes, is aware of climate crisis, and how it affects vulnerable people, especially women in the community. The foundation is currently taking action to strengthen the community responses to climate change by providing alternative means of livelihood with its focus area to include the entire North Central. The foundation intends to support 90,000 women with high breed economic trees, which will be planted within a three year period and subsequently multiplied by the women as the trees blossom and bear fruits.

To this cause, dignitaries present donated cash gifts, while the Minister of Environment, Malam Balarabe Abbas Lawal ably represented by Director Forestry Dr. Mrs Hajara Saliu and the Acting Director General, Raw Materials Research and Development Council, Engr Emmanuel Kwaya pledged to support Hope Alive Foundation with a total of 200,000 seedlings
