 COUNTRY REPRESENTATIVE AND MEMBERS OF INTERNATIONAL CAKE EXPLORATION SOCIETY OF NIGERIA PAYS COURTESY VISIT TO PRESIDENT DEPOWA

Members of International Cake Exploration Society (ICES) of Nigeria led by the country representative, Mrs Solape Bamijoko paid a courtesy call to the President, Defence and Police Officers Wives Association, Mrs Oghogho Gwabin Musa on Friday 26th April, 2024 at the conference room of the DEPOWA Secretariat.

Mrs Solape Bamijoko expressed that it was necessary to officially congratulate Mrs Oghogho G Musa on her appointment as the 15th President of DEPOWA, wish her success in her endeavours and also to appreciate the President DEPOWA for her contribution and presence at the “2023 ICES Abuja Day of Sharing” which was remarkable.

She further informed the President DEPOWA that ICES Nigeria Cake Expo will be coming up in October at the Federal Capital Territory themed “The Beauty of Africa”. In addition, Mrs Solape Bamijoko disclosed that members of ICES, which comprises of professionals, would like to collaborate with DEPOWA in cakes and pastries empowerment.

The President DEPOWA in her response appreciated the country representative and members of ICES for officially coming to identify with her and the association stating that she learned a lot from the organisation and look forward to being in their midst.

Mrs Oghogho G Musa stated that DEPOWA is a non-governmental organisation and, as such, will try to render its support to ICES within the scope of the association. She further inquired that ICES clarify the area of collaboration with DEPOWA, noting that collaboration is important to every organisation.

Mrs Solape Bamijoko articulated that ICES is a pool of skilled members and looks forward to collaborating with DEPOWA in facilitating and teaching DSAC catering students in the area of cakes and pastries.

The President DEPOWA thanked the country representative for specifying the areas of collaboration, she also added that the DSAC students go for internship after training at DEPOWA Secretariat and henceforth letters will be sent to ICES for members who are interested in having interns in their companies to apply.

Highlights of the event include signing of the visitors’ book, presentation of souvenirs, tour of DSAC, and group photographs.
