 DEPOWA HOLDS HER BI-MONTHLY WALK FOR HEALTH AT USHAFA BARRACKS.

The Defence and Police Officers Wives’ Association, on Saturday 20th April 2024, held her bimonthly health walk at Ushafa barracks in Abuja. This initiative for the rotation of venues for the Walk for Health is to create a sense of inclusion amongst the wives of personnel working in the Nigerian Defence formations.

The event began with participants checking their vital signs thereafter, Aerobics exercises were conducted before proceeding for the health walk.

Doctor Promise Ogan delivered the health talk on women taking charge of their health by checking their vital signs periodically and being physically active to walk 10,000 steps daily and ensuring they take their medications regularly.

The President DEPOWA, Mrs Oghogho G Musa the initiator of the DEPOWA Walk for Health gave her remarks by encouraging women to engage in physical activities as it promotes not only their physical health but also their mental and emotional wellbeing. She also advised women to always check vital signs and take their medications when sick, as Doctor Promise Ogan stated earlier.

The Assistant Coordinator, National Defence College Officers Wives Association(NDCOWA), Mrs Rukewe Fejokwu, gave the vote of thanks.

Notably present at the event were the President of Nigerian Airforce Officers Wives Association, Architect Mrs Rakiya Abubakar, representative of the President of Nigerian Army Officers Wives Association(NAOWA), Mrs Juliet Allison, representative of the President Navy Officers Wives Association (NOWA) Mrs Lydia Levi, and the representative of the President Police Officers Wives Association(POWA), Mrs Fati Dogo. Coordinator, Defence Intelligence Agency Officers Wives Association(DIAOWA) ; Mrs Jane Ekor Undiandeye, Assistant Coordinator, National Defence College Officers Wives Association(NDCOWA), Mrs Rukewe Fejokwu, Assistant Coordinator, Nigerian Defence Academy Officers Wives Association (NDCOWA); Mrs Ngozi Aneke, Member’s of DEPOWA, NDCOWA, DENCOWA and AWA.

Highlights of the event were the health walk, health talk, and group photographs.
